Brampton Cougars Friendship Festival Champions

Despite playing the entire tournament with just 10 skaters, Kingston Santin Masonry Midget emerged victorious from all 3 round robin games and without surrendering a goal.  The first place finish earned them a spot directly in the Championship game.  Facing the Almaguin Gazelles in the final, the team was hard-pressed and fell behind 1-0 to trail for the first time in the tournament.  A buzzer-beater goal by Ali Santin tied the game at the end of the first period.  The game remained tied 1-1 until Riley Wales scored the winner with just 1:54 remaining in the game.  The girls demonstrated discipline, sportsmanship and class throughout the tournament despite some adverse circumstances.  Congratulations on a job well-done!
