Atom DS win Brampton Canadettes Tournament

Over the Easter Weekend the Kingston Atom Girls DS Team won the 49th Easter Brampton Canadettes tournament.

Over the Easter Weekend the Kingston Atom Girls DS Team won the 49th Easter Brampton Canadettes tournament. The World’s Largest and Longest running Female Hockey Tournament.

The Kingston Ice Wolves “Orange Crush” went undefeated in the tournament facing teams from Flamborough, Sudbury,and Barrie in the round robin.

Then they had to face two teams from Nepean one in the quarters and another in the semi's. The quarter final game the “Kingston Orange Crush” was down 3-0 going into the third period when the girls went into “NEVER GIVE UP” mode and battled their way back. With the goalie pulled Brinley Brule’ scored with only eight seconds left to tie the game and to force 4-on-4 overtime which solved nothing. The game then went to a shootout which saw Teegan Whitney as the lone goal scorer for Kingston and goaltender Rosslynn Clark shutting down all three Nepean Wildcats shooters.

They went on to win the semi with a convincing 4-0 victory over the second Nepean team. Kingston now headed to the finals to face the Whitby Wolves. The final game was a very close game where Madison Kirkwood potted the only goal of the game giving the Orange Crush 1-0 victory.

The girls were in a field of 25 teams. They ended up with 6 straight victories outscoring the opposition 22-5 and became the champions of the 49th Brampton Canadettes Atom Girls DS division.
