“The Atom A Ice Wolves team volunteered at the Partners In Mission Foodbank on Thursday December 7th following their practice.
The girls had an opportunity to learn about what the Foodbank does for Kingston, how many families they serve daily and where the food comes from in Kingston.
In keeping with our teambuilding theme, the girls broke off into three teams and tackled some jobs that the Foodbank needed help with (packing food, stocking shelves and even bagging raw chicken – a few funny faces made on this last one).
Every player brought a bag of non-perishables which they were able to stock themselves. The team ended up packing enough food to feed the 60 families that will need the services of the foodbank on Friday.
The girls were treated to some ice cream treats at the end of the night that the Foodbank had on hand for the volunteers.
Your coaches and parents are proud of you. Well done Wolfpack, keep up the great work!”
