The Midget A Ice Wolves set a goal in September to bring home a Provincial Banner to hang at the Invista Centre. They delivered with style, grit and determination.
After an undefeated round robin the team got a bye to the quarterfinals vs Barrie. In an exciting game the girls scored with 1.23 seconds left to win the game. In the semifinals the girls faced London. The score was tied 0-0 after regulation time and after an incredible 5 periods of overtime London scored to end the game. The girls had two hours to recover before facing Aurora in the Bronze medal game where the Ice Wolves dug deep and played the game of their lives to capture the Bronze medal defeating Aurora 3-2.
It was a bittersweet weekend as the team mourned the loss suffered in Humboldt. It provided perspective about family, community, team and what this game is really about.
Congratulations to the Midget A Ice Wolves on an amazing season and bringing home the first banner since 2009
